Families invest in Honda vehicles as they are known for their comfort, efficiency, but most importantly reliability.  To help maintain this reliability Honda has recommended intervals for routine maintenance across their vehicle models.  To keep it simple, their manufacturer recommended services are very similar across the line and they have helpful in-dashboard reminders so their customers know when their vehicle is due for service, and what service the vehicle requires at the interval.  You may notice the maintenance codes starting with "A" or "B" followed by a number, "1" through "6".

Here are the most common codes that you will likely see:

• A – Engine oil and oil filter replacement.  Vehicles newer than 2010 require fully synthetic motor oil.  We recommend doing this service twice a year or every 5,000 miles.

• B – Engine oil and oil filter replacement.  Vehicles newer than 2010 require fully synthetic motor oil.  Along with this service is a more thorough inspection which is inclusive of the service.   We recommend doing this service twice a year or every 5,000 miles

Maintenance Sub Items

·1 – Rotate tires, and check tire pressure and condition.  We recommend doing this twice per year or every 5,000 miles.

·2 – Replace air cleaner (engine air filter) element and replace dust and pollen (cabin) filter.  We recommend doing this once per year or more frequent if found dirty.

·3 – Replace transmission fluid (all models) and transfer fluid (typically found on AWD or 4WD).

·4 – Replace spark plugs, replace timing belt (if equipped), inspect water pump, and inspect valve clearance.

·5 – Replace engine coolant.

·6 – Replace rear differential fluid (typically in AWD or 4WD vehicles).
